The first edition of the leading trade show in 2008 has been a surprising success with more than 170 exhibitors and 4500 visitors. With the second GESS, we expect the show to grow over 2000 sqm. Here are a few feedbacks of exhibiting Worlddidac members at GESS 2008:
Mustafa Zidan, Manager Educational Division Al Mazroui, UAE:
"The show was very successful in all meanings. Many suppliers from all over the world have attended GESS in different educational fields from primary school to university level. It was opportunity for us to learn about new products and sign agreements with new suppliers.
The influence and support of the Ministry of Education was clearly shown by the minister himself visiting the exhibition twice and the huge numbers of visitors' (teachers and principals) from the government's schools sectors. The different organized seminars have added great educational value for this exhibition and played an important role to motivate the teachers for attending the conference programme.
We hope the next year 2009 GESS will at least keep the same level of attendance from booth customer and suppliers side but also to improve the private sector as well"
Alfred Breznik, International Sales and Marketing Director of Emona, AUS:
"The response to the GESS 2008 show from both educators and distributors of educational equipment was truly outstanding. It was as if GESS was a well established, annual Gulf region event, whereas in reality, it was only being held for the first time!"
Hugo Schnaberich, Project Manager Export, Hohenloher, DE
"The show was very well organised and attracted many high quality professional visitors. Generally, the audience was much better regarding quantity and quality than at GETEX in 2007. We now have several projects in the entire Gulf region through contacts at GESS 2008. In addition to these new projects, we were able to intensify exisiting contacts and relations. Based on our experience over the last fews years, GESS is a huge improvement and therefore we will return to GESS 2009.
Herbert Fruhmann, Managing Director NTL Fruhmann, AT:
"The show has attracted many teachers. Especially compared with the audience GETEX had the last two years, a substantial increase of the visiting teachers were at the show. However, mainly all the teachers were UAE based, for the future we hope that GESS will also manage to bring more teachers from the entire Gulf region to the exhibition."
